Swim Coaching

We offer swim technique coaching both face to face and remotely.

Face to Face Coaching

Finding your swimming has plateaued? Not sure how to get to the next level? A 1 on 1 coaching session could be just the thing you need to identify faults in your stroke and areas to improve. This 60min session is focused on analyzing your swim technique and identifying changes you can make to gain speed and improve efficiency.

During the session we can also take some video both above and under the water to review together in a session debrief. After the session you’ll be sent a set of bespoke drills to work on based on your unique swim stroke as well as copies of any videos taken during the session. What you’ll get from the session:

  • Direct real time feedback on your stroke and suggestions on changes you can implement

  • A detailed checklist showing where you can improve

  • A set of bespoke drills to take away and work on

Session Price: £65 - £85 per initial session depending on location. £50 - £80 for follow up sessions.

For video analysis add an additional £20

Remote Stroke Analysis

Our remote stroke analysis takes video provided by you and uses it to analyse your swim technique and identify changes you can make to gain speed and improve efficiency. How it works:

  • You send in a video/videos taken of you swimming

  • We analyze the videos

  • We setup a video call to talk through your videos and show your strengths and weaknesses, as well as discussing areas to work on to improve.

  • We send you a full technique checklist and a bespoke set of drills to work on

During the session we can also take some video both above and under the water to review together in a session debrief. After the session you’ll be sent a set of bespoke drills to work on based on your unique swim stroke.

Please bear in mind that only limited analysis can be completed on video shot solely from out of the water. For a full analysis we will need the following:

  • Head on shot from above the water (close to the water line)

  • Head on shot below the waterline from ahead (close to surface)

  • Side shot from above the water (close to the water line)

  • Side shot from below the waterline (close to surface)

  • Birds eye view from above

Ideally we would have 60 seconds of footage from each view. Keep the camera as still as possible when filming. If you're using a Gopro or your phone to take the video footage you'll need to keep the swimmer in close view, i.e. much closer than you would presume. This would be within a couple of feet as the lens viewing angle is quite small, but very clear once in the right position. Try this a few times to test to ensure you get the best view.

For more details on how best to take your own video for analysis, see our blog post on the subject here.

We also advise that you complete a relatively long warm, up before filming to give a representative view of your stroke when you are not completely fresh.

Price: £75 per analysis
